Project overview
Link Quran is initiated to make Quranic learning easier for individuals seeking understanding of holy texts, making it easier to learn Arabic words, especially for those who cannot read or speak Arabic. However, learning the Quran in modern times presents unique challenges. Our client asked for an astounding platform so by providing an engaging platform, on which learning will be easy for every word of the Quran, together with pronunciations and translations.
Problems
Several challenges were faced in the development of the Link Quran. Firstly, handling 77,429 words of the Quran dataset involved filtering unique words and their multiples, which most of the similar words showed multiple meanings in different contexts, proved to be complex task. The arrangement of all the data with regard to every word, including meanings, sound, and translations, was a complex task.
Another big challenge in the gamification process was marking words: when a user marks one word, it should be shown in all occurrences of the word that has the same Arabic and English meaning in the Quran.
Client vision
Our client requested a well-designed web application that should strike a balance between simplicity and comprehensiveness of features that make learning the Quran straightforward.
Solutions
We compiled a list of unique words each word with its meaning and applied query to filter them with existing words, resulting in the reduction of word list. we also created a new table for unique words and on the backend when any word was marked it got checked with all unique word sets and on all places where that pair was occurring was marked done.
